"So how much for a one way ticket to Chanel?"

Since New York Fashion Week is now so last week, all eyes were on Paris Fashion Week. And today, all eyes were on Chanel. Staged to be in a scene of an airport terminal, with of course hot male model flight attendants. Karl Lagerfeld completely transformed the Grand Palais into a work of art for his show. The show even carried on the theme of an airport into the designs of the clothing worn and accessories (seen below) in order to capture the whole picture. Edie Campbell, popular English model, opened the show and other models that were featured included Miss Kendall Jenner, Avery Blanchard, and Lexi Boling.

 Aside from the runway flowing with suits and dresses, were Velcro platform sandals that lit up as well as think galaxy-vibe aviator glasses worn by many of the models. The look for Chanel 2016 Spring, was more of a looser and more sophisticated styles and designs. When I look at most of the outfits worn I would do anything to jet set off in them. Aside from dreaming of walking down that runway, I would be even happy to sit in the audience next to Cara DeLevingne, Lily-Rose Depp, and hey even Lagerfeld's godson, Hudson, who happens to be taking Chanel kids by a storm. 

 

 

 

Paris Fashion Week is all about knowing that there are no limits in what you are portraying and expressing in fashion. The bigger the better, and for Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, they blew everyone away.

Nasty Gal vs. NYFW: Who wore it first???

Happy Sunday Lovelies!    

     These past couple of weeks, all eyes and ears were focused on the infamous New York Fashion Week, a time where all the biggest celebs and high end fashion designers put their seasonal collections together to show on the runway. From designers such as Jason Wu, Rebecca Minkoff, and my all time favorite Marc Jacobs, were shown for everyone to see. With all of these fabulous, and timeless designers and clothing, in today's society, us fashionistas go to them for inspiration on upcoming style trends and what will soon hit the streets this year, but for one store, we have been seeing less of an inspiration, and more of a few controversial copies. Nasty Gal, is an American based retail store based in LA that sells vintage and chic clothing that is affordable to young women. It was founded by Sophia Amoruso and in 2012 was named the "Fast Growing Retailer". But lately, I have been reading articles and seeing more and more about how Nasty Gal has lately been taking clothes from other designers and turning it into their own and selling them, and when I mean into their own, I mean the exact same style, design, and color. So you might be thinking, okay how have they been taking designs? Here are some examples I have been researching from New York Fashion articles! Enjoy!

1.) Balmain Jumpsuit
Recently at the Billboard Awards our favorite blondie Taylor Swift wore Balmain Jumpsuit, and Nasty Gal had even posted a picture of her wearing the jumpsuit, taking credit for it, but then realizing it was from Balmain, they took it down. But Nasty Gal is still selling the jumpsuit.

2.) Givenchy Spring 1997 Suit
Featured in NYFW was Givenchy's Spring 1997 Suit by Alexander McQueen, and now it is not surprising that Nasty Gal is featuring a similar one, with a very similar description.

4.) Marc Jacobs
Everyone loved the Marc Jacobs mini dress from NYFW Spring 2013, so Nasty Gal decided to create a similar dress, only difference is three inches longer and cheaper.

 

 

Although I am all for cheaper prices and alternatives instead of purchasing high end clothing where as I can buy similar for a better deal. Nasty Gal has surely took the triumph to design copies/ similarities of these styles and forget to credit them.

Fall/Winter 2015-16 {style trends}

Fall 2015 Street Style

Fall is coming right around the corner, and it's time to start opening the bins of the boxes labeled "Fall" and "Winter". Also it's time to not feel ashamed for always wanting to hold around that precious cup of hot Starbucks (PSL anyone?) It's my favorite time of the year because I can break out the scarves and not feel weird wearing head to toe black. So, from getting to explore the variety of trends around my campus and on the street, I have decided to come up with some popular items that girls all around the city are labeling as a "must wear".

1. High Waisted Pants

High Waisted shorts are out and pants are in! Pair your high waisted pants with a sleek blouse, Cropped blouse, or a turtle neck just in time to stay warm in the fall while looking chic and module.


2.Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks have been around forever and it is finally time to bring them back, Turtlenecks range from all kinds of cuts and styles to fit your personal look! They are sleek and scream cold weather! (plus they keep your neck warm!) You can find celebrities like the Kardashians, Gwen Stefani, and on the runway from Fall NYFW.

3. Autumn hues, cream, taupe, & moss green

Aside from popular clothes for Fall 2015, here are some colors that slap Fall in the face, after Kanye West YEEZY Season 2 hit the runway at NYFW, I realized that simple and dedicate colors like beige, cream and ivory, really should be in the color hue category for this season. Pairing an outfit with similar hues is becoming more and more of a sensation and gives off a warm look without looking as if you tried to hard to match.

4. Thigh High Boots

Thigh high boots have been around for awhile, I would always see them in my favorite department stores, but just never being bought. But now, I have been seeing them worn more and more and of course, I neeed to get some! You can pair thigh high boots with your favorite short dress, denims, leggings, or that cute new flowy skirt you just bought! They give off a sense of height, with a sexy edge!

5.Bandana Scarf

As of Fall 2014, Infinity scarves were quite the hit! But after NYFW, Bandana scarves have seeped their way through the runway and now on the streets, it gives off that street style look with a little music festival touch to it, seeing as they were a popular trend featured at Coachella and many other events! Pair your favorite bandana scarf with that loose t-shirt or your favorite outerwear.

Spring 2014 Trends

10. Pastel

It's all about pastels this spring! rock any spring time look with a sweet and
 soft pastel top or bottom, even an accessory. The best thing about pastel trends is that you
can find your shade of pastel and wear it with whatever flatters your fancy.

9.Bright Orange Lipstick

Bright Orange Lipstick has made its way back into the fashion world,  even many fashion designers
have added this shade of orange into their Spring Summer 2014 shows. Spring is around the corner
and its all about bright and bold colors!

8.Wide Leg Trousers

Wide leg trouser have been on the rise during Spring/Summer runaways. The best thing about
them is they flatter any shape and style, for all body types. They add a casual but yet
glamorous touch to an outfit, and they're also veryyyy comfortable which is definately
a plus!

7.Mesh

Mesh has reappeared! Mesh came in an echo of a sportswear trend to a simple yet
chic look. Rock a mesh top with a black barette or camisole under to add a sexy effect.

6. Black and White

B & W will be a timeless look. Black and White promotes a bold statement, if worn
the correct way. Black and white goes with everything from leather jackets to checkered shirts.
Even though its not a spring color, its a spring essiential.

5.Athletic Jogger Pants

I've been spotting the jogger pants look lately and they're are so many ways
to rock this look. Loose fitted jogger pants with bold graphics add an exquisite flair to an outfit , very
popular on men as well. Wear with a crop top or a loose tee or blouse and biker jacket.

4. Low Ponytails

Say goodbye to bad hair days! Master this fashionable ponytail, probably one of the
easiest hairstyles to do, finish the ponytail with a spray of gloss hairspray to keep it in place as
well as leaving a shining touch! Looks great with any outfit and I mean ANY outfit ladies.

3. Floral

You can't go wrong with floral, that's what spring is all about! The floral look will be a timeless trend
for Spring.  Floral marks a new form of femininity. Feel the power of the flower.

2.Crop Tops



Oh my the crop tops,  a wonderful time for girls with great abs to show them off
and an even better time for girls who feel like they don't have anything to show off! Haha anyways
crop tops go great with high waisted pieces (shown above) An easy way to wear a crop top without showing too
much skin! A crop top can go with any cute simple outfit from a chic outfit

1. Embellished White Nail Polish

All white nails with precise details, stripes, jewels, any over the top art can correspond with any
outfit making it one of springs top nail trends! Chanel has the best white nail polish.
